I'm not sure the Conservatives are willing to change leaders yet. No, they didn't win the election but they DID make significant inroads, gaining almost 3x as many seats as the Liberals did and making significant inroads in Quebec.

The Liberals used the "Trump scare" to very good effect to convince scared Canadians that the country would be taken over by His Orangeness if they didn't vote for the international banker. Not sure the same tactic would work today.
