Not my usual kind of source (Xitter), but I want any centrists out there who ask trans people to "just get along" / compromise with actual hate groups that want them eradicated to know that it doesn't work.

There is no such thing as a reasonable bigot, by definition.

I don't think that's the takeaway, unfortunately. As stated above, no cis woman won any medals in the 2016 Rio 800m. That would likely remain true if not for the winners subsequently no longer being considered eligible for the women's division.

The test result is a strong indicator that Khelif is biologically male, but not the only piece. As shown in the tweet above, the IOC itself corrected itself specifically about it not being a DSD case. Why would they call that out, if it wasn't a DSD case? Also, that test result is not the only actual piece of evidence, here is a separate test specifying that Khelif has 5ฮฑ-Reductase 2 deficiency, which is a male DSD.

Biological sex is actual very straightforward, it is entirely defined by gamete size. People whose bodies are organized around production of the large gamete size are female, and people whose bodies are organized around production of the small gamete size are male. People often get confused here, because there's lots of variation in sexual phenotype and genotype that are interesting in their own right, but don't affect how biological sex is defined. Those are just variations within a sex, which is why intersex can be a confusing term.

Which isn't to deny that gender exists, because that's the whole point of separate gender and sex. It captures a whole different lived experience.
