- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

That's all the rules!

Side note, conservatives have almost supernatural timing with regards to these things... Remember when Rick Perry cut the texas fire departments, right before the historic texas fires broke out... and in the trump admin those instant flash floods that whiped out the kids camps right after the weather budget got slashed.
Quote me later... a tsunami on par with Fukushima will hit in 2 months or less.
The difference is that both of the disasters you were referring to happened in Texas. Those were self-inflicted wounds by the voters of those states, as sad as it is to say.
The East Coast and Southern states have minimal likelihood of experiencing a tsunami compared to the entire West coast..
This is purposefully directed at harming Washington, Oregon, California, Hawaii, and Alaska which all have the highest risk due to being part of the Pacific "Ring of Fire" with increased incidences of volcanic activity and earthquakes. (Hawaii isn't actually part of the Ring of Fire, but is still at greater risk for tsunamis due to the local volcanoes and earthquakes)
I mean it is still kind of the same thing... In texas there were tons of people who didn't vote for it... but were effectively caught in their neighbors self inflicted bullshit.
Same concept with blue states... those states may not have had a majority that voted for trump... but the nation as a whole did. (caveats of course for all forms of voting shenanigans, disqualified votes and any possible fuckery with the election itself).
