Sorry, no, the ~~lefties~~ Neoliberals decided to let trump win because they ~~didn’t get their unicorn with the sparkly tail and the little bowler hat~~ refused to listen to the wants and needs of voters in general over their owner donors.

Fixed it for you.

at the midterms they’ll find a new way to let trump win.

Sadly nothing to fix here. Biden, Jeffries, Harris, Schumer et al kept failing to represent the people and now it's probably too late.

Sure, whatever means our ism-flavored friends don't have to participate and trump still wins.

Its all the neolibs, cucks, genociders, corpo-whore zionistas, whatever.

Po-TAY-to, Po-TAH-to

Exciting midterm slapfights ahoy! And we wonder why the ancient Dem consultants think waffling to the “center” will get them votes. It’s because no national party will ever pass the purity tests of the leftist-lefts-who-ever-lefted. So why make any effort to reach out to them? It will never result in those people actively going to the polls.

Waah I voted for a Democrat and they didn’t completely remake the entire electoral, political, social, and financial mechanisms of the country. ☹️

Liberals: the left is why we let fascism win because we gave them literally nothing we asked for, they are both numerous enough to make us lose and not important enough to compromise with, I am very smart. Lefties are also why we didn't prepare defenses against all the things Trump and the Heritage Foundation wrote a paper telling us what they were going to do, and also they ate my cupcakes.

I do like when y'all go mask off, it's great being proved right over and over and over and over

I've never advocated anything of the sort, nor will I ever.

we wonder why the ancient Dem consultants think waffling to the “center” will get them votes

Because their strategy is stuck in 1992 when there was votes there. And Becau$e.

It’s because no national party will ever pass the purity tests of the leftist-lefts-who-ever-lefted

Nope. That's just a tired excuse to dismiss the valid concerns of people who are against genocide, corruption, and warmongering, to name just a few areas where the Dem leadership isn't representative of the people.

So why make any effort to reach out to them?

Because that's their job. And also how to win elections. The last time any presidential candidate won in an actual landslide was Obama in 2008 when he ran as a reformist progressive. Then he governed as a centrist and won reelection by a much smaller margin despite an arguably easier opponent.

It will never result in those people actively going to the polls.

That's the opposite of reality, as 2008 proved.

they didn’t completely remake the entire electoral, political, social, and financial mechanisms of the country. ☹️

You know what representative democracy means, right? Because upholding the hated status quo that causes hundreds of thousands of needless deaths and bankruptcies every year isn't it.

Wanting to be faithfully represented by those with the power to change what's killing you isn't childish. It's common sense.

Then we agree.

we wonder why the ancient Dem consultants think waffling to the “center” will get them votes

Because their strategy is stuck in 1992 when there was votes there. And Becau$e.

Again, we agree

It’s because no national party will ever pass the purity tests of the leftist-lefts-who-ever-lefted

Nope. That's just a tired excuse to dismiss the valid concerns of people who are against genocide, corruption, and warmongering, to name just a few areas where the Dem leadership isn't representative of the people.

It's not that the concerns aren't valid. It's that when there's no more time left on the clock and it's time to shoot the ball the left decides that's the time to make a point and walk off the field. I don't think anyone's arguing the Dem leadership is doing what we want them to do exactly - or even mostly ffs - it's that Dem leadership doesn't mean fuck when the republiQans run the table again.

So why make any effort to reach out to them?

Because that's their job. And also how to win elections.

Yeah, theoretically. If people decide sitting down with Liz Cheney is an unforgivable sin, and refuse to vote, maybe they're just showing how little they understand about the world, and how politics on a national stage works. The situation with Israel was absolutely cranked up to 11 to exploit the difficult situation the Dems were in, and every single lefty who decided to stay home or piss their vote away on Jill Putin fucked up.

Harris said and did plenty to support the working people, 10,000% more than trump could ever dementedly garble on his best day. There was no excuse for fucking this up. Yeah yeah, Harris has issues, no fucking shit. Protest non-voting is the most assinine self-destructive provably idiotic move possible and these fuckers are proud of it? Get the fuck out then. No more politics for them. No, and y'know what - dont give a shit. If they can't be arsed to participate at any level, then shut the goddamned fuck up.

Oh, Dems didn't reach out to your specific microdemographic? Well, you can (a) join the club and put your big person pants on and vote anyway, (b) cry like a spoiled trust fund child who got the wrong influencer shoutout for graduation or (c) run your own fucking candidate. There's ten more options other than tearing down the Dems and not voting. But no. Here we are. Yeah it's the Dems fault. They failed to walk out the goddamned door and vote in the election that mattered more than any other. ("Oh they always say that!" Sure, how's that holding up? Aging well as a retort is it? Idiots.)

Sorry. Obviously I'm a little axe-grindy at the moment. Please stand by.

It will never result in those people actively going to the polls.

That's the opposite of reality, as 2008 proved.

Pretty sure most of our lefty non-voters were in highschool in 2008. But - maybe you're right.

they didn’t completely remake the entire electoral, political, social, and financial mechanisms of the country. ☹️

You know what representative democracy means, right? Because upholding the hated status quo that causes hundreds of thousands of needless deaths and bankruptcies every year isn't it.

I do know what it means. And what it means is working within the framework to get the most progressive bills passed, the most money for the people who need it, and clawing back all the republiQans have stolen in the last 50 years. And it can't even start if people don't vote. Specifically, vote for a political party. More specifically, vote for a national political party. Extremely specifically, vote for Democrats. It's as simple as "don't eat horse de-wormer".

Change takes time because legislation takes time because regular non-social-media life takes time and if your ideal is classic Marx that's great but it's not going to happen in Obama's first term, okay? It can't. That's just now how the world works, and expecting it to is childish.

Look, when the aliens land and explain how we're shit-flinging monkeys and hand over the keys to free energy and time travel, we'll revisit this. Until, we need to vote as a unified group and tearing that down consistently, repeatedly, under any guise whatsoever, is beyond stuipd.

I'm ready to give the Dem leadership an earful of constructive criticism. I'm ready to look at local races and give constructive criticism. But pretending I care so much about one or two issues that I'll sacrifice the entirety of the country and it's future is just so much bullshit. And people who did that can grow up and admit they fucked up, or, simply not do that again. Either's fine. I expect they won't. Because they have proven over and over that they either don't understand it or they don't care about it. Possibly both.
