Property taxes are local country/city main funding. MGT as federal congresscritter has 0 fucking say. Some states do take a cut of property taxes. Not positive about Florida (DeSantis), but FL does have a foreigner transaction tax on purchases of homes.

States and municipalities also take a chunk of land transfer and development fees. Some places have high transfer fees to provide lower property taxes. These other fees can suppress new housing. In Toronto, development fees are $300k per house.

This is all empty grandstanding. For DeSantis, he cannot dictate county/city revenue, and if he's not suggesting eliminating State government, then he would need a revenue replacement formula. More likely saying stupid shit for 2028 Primary purposes, because GOP solution to America's problems is always that the rich need to pay less taxes.
