Overview:
The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.
Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.
America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.
America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

Even after Trump will be gone, the idiots making this possible still thrive and breed and vote. I'm not sure how to trust the US again in the near future.
Did we forgive Germany? Or Japan? Or Italy?
It took years, decades even, for the trust lost during WW2 to be restored.
Trust In whom? The level of trust of The average European towards Germany is probably the same as it was during the war. Which is, coincidentally, the same as before the war.
Europeans trust Germany as much in 2025 as they did in 1940? That's just patently false. Do you know any Europeans or Germans at all?

In order: Yes. No. Yes, but qualified given behaviour over the past 20 years.
Germany accepted its role in the Holocaust and in the war. It took positive strides to make amends. The same applies to Italy, though its beginning to flirt with fascism again in the late 1990s/early 2000s made me start being ultra-wary of it. Japan has never really accepted its malignant role in WWII and, at points, has denied documented history. So I, at least, have not forgiven it.
(I also do not trust Turkey for its continued refusal to accept its role in the Armenian Genocide.)
and let's be real here, what are the chances america actually makes efforts to fix what it's done - basically zero
I expect the best we'll get is an acknowledgement that "the previous administration was difficult" and then it'll be back to business as usual, no amends made
Japan had a pacifist foreign policy though since they lost WW2.
They had a pacifist foreign policy forced on them. Doesn't really count on the morality side.

My Australian grandfather (fought in New Guinea in the RAF) didn't forgive the Japenese. He was appaled when my father bought a Toyota and disowned him. This was decades ago. So this will take deacdes and lots of forgibmess from.the US,.somethibg theybare not know for..so.id exoect it to get.even.more.toxic. On the other ha d it is hopefully bringing much of the eorld together. As an Australian I'd love for us to join the EU.
