Let's see, Houston has ~4X the population and ~10x the murders. So unless that equation is known to be non linear, that seems pretty bad Mr abbot

How about calling a special session to get the legislators to use state state money to address the root causes like systemic inequality against poor brown people? You know, an empathetic human approach?

But of course he's a republican and so only has a flaming ball of tar where his soul should be, so that's never going to happen.

It's not, BUT, doing absolutely nothing to address the problem is orders of magnitude easier, which is why Abbot picked it (or his rich friends like the prison pipeline just the way it is)
