What I don't understand is why they don't put these whirly-dos on the wings of planes? Birds getting sucked into the turbines is a huge problem and I hear these things are awesome for wiping out birds. Plus think of how much electricity could be generated with these planes flying all over the place.

Speaking of obvious engineering that has been overlooked by science... Don't really get why helicopters have giant air fans spinning fans above them, they could just remove them and install cockpit air conditioning
