I mean... that's a pretty low bar, though, right? Kamala just set the world record for fastest time from hype to revulsion any politician has ever achieved and pulled her entire party along into the grave she dug herself.
What world are you living in?
Ok, why do you think she lost the general election and the popular vote then?
The world where people would rather live with a party of literal fucking nazis than sully themselves with anything less than their ideal.
"Please stop supporting genocide" "No"
"Please stop deporting people without due process" "No"
"Please stop bombing children" "No"
"Please stop gaslighting us about the state of the economy" "No"
"Please say you'll do something to stop healthcare from being the biggest cause of bankruptcy" "No"
"Please make the economy work for the people, rather than the rich" "No"
I'm not sure you understand what the phrase "less than their ideal" means.
Look, anyone with a brain saw that concentration camps were coming before this last election. Everyone was able to see what was coming since they literally published it in black and white how they planned to destroy the country. Everyone was already aware what their goals were when it comes to women and trans.
Your whole reasoning is utter bullshit.
What, did you think Trump was going to stop bombing the fuck out of Gaza?
“Stop deporting people without due process” yeah cause our current alternative is sooo much better.
“Stop gaslighting us about the state of the economy” because now if we just don’t report on it anymore it’s not gaslighting right?
Healthcare Guess no Medicare or Medicaid is better right?
Economy for the rich Fuck that’s a good one man. Trump surely was the obvious choice to save us from that one /s
You’re either the dumbest willfully ignorant mf out there if you think you couldn’t have seen the current state of affairs coming and honestly thought we’d be better off with the current alternative because of your fucking high horse, or you’re a Russian troll.
Who said Trump was gonna be better about any of that? I certainly didn't. But the Democrats were going to keep supporting those systems, and helping the Republicans build them out. The ones helping the facists aren't going to fight against and stop the facists. That makes them far from "less than ideal".
Look, I’ll put it another way. And yeah, I love metaphors because they help explain things that should be obvious to simple people.
You’re sitting at a lunch table with a group of people. You’re all told that you to decide what to have for lunch as a group. Only one option is allowed, and everyone must eat what the group decides on.
Your options are:
1: A sandwich with absolutely no real substance. It’s just two slices of bread with the thinnest wafer of baloney you’ve ever seen.
Or
2: A literal shit sandwich. Just a straight turd sandwiched between some moldy bread. They also sprinkled a little gold glitter on it and slapped a Made In America sticker on it.
Most people would look at this and say “well this one’s a no brainier. Who the fuck would pick the turd sandwich? The other one may not be very tasty or have much nutrition, but at least it isn’t a literal fucking turd sandwich.”
Only, some people at the table are incapable of making a decision to save their lives and insist they have to listen to both sides of the argument before coming to a decision.
So there’s probably some people at the table that are championing the baloney sandwich and going on and on about how fucking great baloney is and everyone should love baloney too.
The dipshits at the table however are thinking, “I hate baloney. Fuck those guys and their baloney. I’m gonna make those guys eat that nasty fucking turd.” They just can’t wait to see the look of disgust and rage on those peoples faces as their forced to eat the shit sandwich. Ignoring the reality that they too will have to eat the turd.
You also have trolls at a near-by table yelling encouragement at the dipshits like “yeah, fuck those guys and their baloney, make them eat shit” and “look at that nothing sandwich, that's the sorriest excuse for a sandwich I’ve ever seen. Who would eat that?” or “More like a bullshit baloney sandwich” and so on.
The dipshits and the trolls decide to yell over the baloney people, so some of the people who can’t think for themselves believe there's more support for the shit sandwich and side with the group they think is already winning, because if more people support the shit sandwich it must be for a good reason. And who doesn’t love being on the winning side, right?
There might even be some well meaning people at another near-by table telling everyone about how "baloney is unhealthy because is high in sodium, and the bread should have been whole wheat instead of white because that's more nutritious", or "meat is murder, and why would you support murder?" wining some of the other indecisive fucks over.
Meanwhile you’re over here bitching “why can’t we have a burger instead”? You don’t like either option, you’d rather have a nice fat burger. Only burgers weren’t a fucking option in the first place, so you’re going to sit this one out because they aren’t serving burgers. You cross your fucking arms and stay silent picking nothing.
But guess what, one of the two options is going to be your lunch whether you like it or not. So you sat this one out because you didn’t like your options and someone else picked your lunch for you. Shockingly, rationality didn’t win out like you thought it would. Turns out, there were just slightly more dipshits and indecisive fucks out there than you thought.
So now we all have to eat this shit sandwich together. And you’re over here with your shit-eating grin thinking “well at least I didn’t vote for this. I wanted burgers. Serves them right for not making burgers an option. Maybe next time they’ll have better options.” Even though this is the second fucking time we’ve been forced to eat this shit, and next time there probably won’t even be vote.
Can you get up from the table and leave? Sure. But its too late now because you’re already eating this turd whether you like it or not. All you can do now is either run away with your shit-stained lips, or find the fucking asshole that even made a shit-sandwich an option in the first place and make them regret it.
That's a bad analogy. The sandwich with no substance in it is neutral. If the Dems were neutral, I'd have no problem with it. But they are actively evil. We don't call them the "lesser evil" because they are neutral. They are actively:
If you think that equates to a "A sandwich with absolutely no real substance. It’s just two slices of bread with the thinnest wafer of baloney you’ve ever seen." then I'm going to stop engaging with you because we fundamentally see reality differently. I see attrocities, and you see no real problems.
They do have a turd in the sandwich, but because it's a smaller turd than the other sandwich, I'm being told that the turd in the Dem's sandwich doesn't exist. And I can see it with my own eyes, as do many others, who agree that maybe we should be allowed to ask for a sandwich without a turd. I'm not asking for a burger, I'm asking for someone who isn't going to destroy people's lives, but the Democrats aren't interested in that.
