I didn't think they're willing to accept this isn't another "us vs them" situation. They're unable to frame it any other way, even if it's an issue we're in agreement on.
The problem is that they believe their in-group to be categorically innocent. They have a double standard of when a rightwinger does X then it’s good, but when anybody else does X then it’s bad. And when they are lawmakers and judges doling out who gets affected, they will keep their in-group clean.
We're not in an agreement, Republicans are without remorse protecting rapists, they only pretended to care when they could use it as a political weapon because they think we're doing the same. If this weren't the facts then Trump would never have been reelected.
I firmly believe we can only appeal to their selfish needs to turn them over, talking about financial security, taxes, loss of religious freedom, and how much they're losing to the rich.
