Trump is way out of his depth. I fear for him dying though because of Vance waiting in the wings.
Trump is a “once in a generation” level of grifter, much like Putin, Orban or Berlusconi in their respective countries. They somehow resonate with their population deeply, and they exploit this to grab and keep power.
Vance is just a run-of-the-mill second line fascist backed by some rich dudes, plenty to go around in every country. They (luckily) lack the charisma to pull votes in the necessary orders of magnitude to win an election.
I doubt most MAGA fans would follow Vance, the GOP would definitely start infighting after Trump’s death.
i hope the piece of shit goes to jail, then get shanked. I don't want him dead until he's in jail.
The problem is the longer charismatic authoritarian leader is in power; the easier for the least charismatic authoritarian leader to stay in power.
The charismatic leader is the one who shapes the State to support the authoritarian leader.
Sure, they will be infighting between factions however the day to day running of the government doesn’t grind to a halt.
My hope is that Vance doesn’t have the cult leader charisma to keep this maga shit together, and a power vacuum causes it to crumble.
They've been planning vance as president from the start .
They're going to get rid of trump and invoke his name and image to get the worshipers to go along with whatever Pete , jd and whatever other gang of assholes that are waiting in the wings want done.
