That's optimistic.
It's assuming the Dem Party doesn't sabotage their own candidates. It's assuming they don't campaign like it's 1960 again. It's assuming social media will somehow be reigned in.
It's assuming there will even be a fair environment for an election, instead of the government (and whoever's conflated with them) putting thumbs on the scales kinda like Hungary, or worse. It doesn't take much pressure to sway elections in environments this polarized.
The party is the DNC
The DNC is a dictatorship controlled by the chair
You don't have to guess what kind of chair Ken Martin is, he was Minnesota's chair for a decade and that track record stands for itself.
He's already purging out old guard committee members, did a 180 on the flow of money between states and DNC, openly advocates for voters deciding the platform via fair primaries...
Like, not as a personal dog, but the overwhelming amount of people complaining about the DNC just aren't up to date on what's happening
Fair point! I am not up to date TBH.
I guess I'm pretty jaded too. The DNC getting things together!? What is this?
The biggest thing:
https://democrats.org/news/dnc-and-asdc-announces-organize-everywhere-win-anywhere-strategy-largest-ever-monthly-dnc-investment-into-democratic-state-and-territory-parties/
You may have seen articles about how two "union leaders" gave up on the party as well...
The thing is, they were both superdelegates who sat on the committee that have been influencing primaries to favor neoliberals, and one of them even tried to go against the primary results and give it to Hillary in 08.
Don't expect the media to portray things accurately, it's all owned by billionaires who would rather have a Republican than a progressive.
And this wasn't a sudden overnight response to the 2024. The DNC is ~400 voting members who maybe get to vote for a chair every four years, if a Dem becomes president they name a chair.
That group of ~400 have been moving left for decades, it's just that we finally reached the tipping point. We can't afford to slip like with Obama, and if I went into why 08 didn't fix the party this comment would be 10x as long
