Yes, but only because everyone I've known with a jacked up truck also has a jacked up personality.
While there is crossover without a doubt, the checked up trucks that are often but, importantly, not always caked in mud are much more likely to be the guys that will help you out without asking for more than asking you what the hell happened here?
It's the difference between people who buy them just to show off, and those who buy them to have fun with them.
I have encountered big american pickups only seven times in my country. They all had some kind of nazi imagery or text attached.
