I heard on the radio this morning that the original tarrifs are in effect. Trump was going to add even more tarrifs to steel and aluminium but decided not to once Ford backed down from the electricity surcharge. My understanding was the surcharge was supposed to be a response to the tarrifs and were to remain in place until all the new tarrifs were dropped.

He's also threatened those same extra tariffs to Canada's overall response as well, but the federal government didn't budge and in the end it was Trump that didn't put his money where his mouth is.
