I strongly believe that this movement needs some epic, historical, unstoppable chants and slogans. I also believe that recent history proves that such chants and slogans tend to follow a simple formula: 3 words only, each word being only one syllable.

Here are the most impactful chants of the last few decades:

  • Yes We Can.
  • Feel The Bern.
  • Eat The Rich.
  • Drain The Swamp.
  • Build The Wall.

These appeal to short attention spans. They are emotional. Sometimes they even imply a policy. They fit on a hat or t shirt or bumper sticker. They are ear worms. They have lasted.

When we make them wordier, they can make for a fun meme or moment, but history forgets them quickly.

I propose we mass brainstorm similar three word chants for the issues and policies of the day, until a winning chant is adopted by a charismatic leader to challenge Trump. I hope you all encourage your peers to workshop along these lines until a clear winner emerges within the movement.

Here are a few suggestions to kick things off:

  • No More Kings.
  • Let Goods Flow.
  • Free Means All.
  • Rise Or Fall.

If you have an idea or suggestion, please share in the comments. If you join a protest, see if any of these stick. We're all in this together!

This would be noticeable from higher views, and would show your coordination and love for the country, and can be used in symbolic ways. (The country is for the people!)

Response to https://reddit.com/r/50501/comments/1jttu7z/april_19th_reclaim_our_patriotism/ and other similar posts saying to wear red/white/blue clothes.

Make your work a form of protest.

Do you have some flexibility with where or when you work? Some ideas: Organize a "work-in" somewhere like your city hall, capitol, ICE building, court, town square, etc. Bring signs and flyers.

Do you work onsite somewhere but have a lunch break? Some ideas: Organize a lunchtime demonstration with your coworkers outside or a reading or action group.

You're a homemaker, stay at home parent or caregiver? Some ideas: Have sign making parties with the kids, build collectives to help each other with childcare and collectivize tasks, have phone call action hours where you take turns caring for the kids while some of you call your elected officials.

Have flexibility with what you can wear? Some ideas: wear your support as tshirts, pins, hats, etc.

Have any kind of job? Some ideas: talk with your coworkers, figure out actions you can take within your organization to protect your community from the trump regime, create resistance in your organization, unionize.

The idea is to hurt banks by moving your money to a credit union.

We could market for a couple week and have a full week where we encourage everyone to move as much of the personal finances as possible to credit unions instead of big banks.

Maybe we can learn a thing or two.

Wear costumes, do some kind of singing, do some stuff that will catch the eye of news! There was a Pikachu at the Turkey protests, and there was a democrat senator who called out the defunding of public television like PBS by saying that Sesame Street would be humorously considered woke to them. Have those characters show up in protests!

Thats if, we even have fair elections anymore, or if we can coordinate well enough.

I think it's time the commercial tenants of Trump Tower be given the choice to break their leases or face brand boycotts and protests. If they're financially supporting Trump properties, they're supporting a coup. Time they take their operations elsewhere.

I have neither the reach nor the knowledge to organize protests....but some of you here do! Can anybody get the ball rolling on this?

People forgot that it happened. We should remind them. That insurrection was caused by nobody but Trump and the rest of the insurrectionists who got pardoned.

I heard that there will be a meeting to celebrate those Jan 6 rioters getting out of jail. Remind them of the blatant disrespect of the white house. Remind them of the people and police they killed during the riot. Remind them of the gallows and the threats they made looking for representatives like Mike Pence. Remind them that they are nothing more than traitors.

Project 2025 expected protests to happen, which is so they can invoke the Insurrection Act. But I think they didn't expect the magnitude of push back, being that protests are organized all across every state in multiple locations, and people are taking to the internet to pressure politicians. The flood the zone strategy has backfired, because it made a lot of leftists focus on the news and find out that 50501 exists and rally around it. Before, organized protests for every capitol has not happened in this country, until now. Reddit was their blind spot when they were stealing leftist social media. It took ONE r/50501 post to rise to r/popular and have everyone notice it (I KNOW those Reddit admins shadowbanned r/50501 from r/popular). How many other blind spots can we exploit? And how can we use our current leverage against their plans?

My post blew up on the Lemmy fediverse, and I think in order to convince the other side to question Trump, we should spread the anti-fascist film Don't Be A Sucker (watch here) everywhere. Start posting it on all 50501 socials, start posting/spreading it on Twitter, and maybe make it a chant so it gets on the news.

Not to be confused with Trump calling veterans "suckers" and "losers" (he also dodged drafting btw), which is unfortunate since I also would like to spread that Trump has no respect for veterans.
