I don’t think anyone would care if they did
World News
A community for discussing events around the World
Rules:
-
Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:
- Post news articles only
- Video links are NOT articles and will be removed.
- Title must match the article headline
- Not United States Internal News
- Recent (Past 30 Days)
- Screenshots/links to other social media sites (Twitter/X/Facebook/Youtube/reddit, etc.) are explicitly forbidden, as are link shorteners.
- Blogsites are treated in the same manner as social media sites. Medium, Blogger, Substack, etc. are not valid news links regardless of who is posting them. Yes, legitimate news sites use Blogging platforms, they also use Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube and we don't allow those links either.
-
Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
-
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed. Sources that have a Low or Very Low factual reporting rating or MBFC Credibility Rating may be removed.
-
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.
-
Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF OCTOBER 19 2025
-
Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
-
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
-
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

3 cheers for Ukraine if they're sending bombs at pooty poot. Fuck Russia.
Hell, even just his $1,400,000,000 house would be a great target. Hit him in the retirement, old white dudes in suits hate that.
It's just a (not so thinly veiled) attempt to change their position at the bargaining table. If Ukraine can hit specific points and minimize civilian casualties (something that Russia doesn't seem to care about), they should.
Trump might throw a hissy fit
Maybe that'll trigger a massive stroke that'd do the whole world a favor.
I would celebrate that, actually.
That's not true. It would be a nice end of the year thing.
And? You wanted war? Well here you go fuck boy, don't be crying all over the place complaining after just attacking them on Saturday.
Pooosssssssssssyyyyy
There have been stories of assassination attempts on Zelenskyy since the start. There’s no way he would have survived had the three day target been met.
"you're lying, but thanks for the idea" - Kyiv
Playing the victim while punching the other guy in the groin. Fucking russian losers.
Now do it for real, they already said you've done it anyway.
Why would they not attack his residence?
It doesn't burn as well as oil refineries, has only symbolic value and is likely 10 x better protected than an average strategic industrial site.
However, sending one or two drones irregularly - with no hope of arrival, just to keep the air defense launchers stationed there - that would make sense.
That might be quite the hit for his image though. "Dude can't even protect his own house why is he in charge again?"
So what if they did attack Putin's house? They are at war, after all
Putin trump and Netanyahu need to die and make the world a better place

Putin is targeting civilians.
Only fair that Ukraine targets Putin.
Kyiv should make it clear that they want Putin in charge because he fucks up the Russian war effort so consistently.
"Yeah, there was an attack, but it goes to another high school, you wouldn't know it."
And...as always, trump simps for Putin. Amazing.
Cry some more, Putler.
You know how to know Russia is lying‽
‘Putin Told Me’ – Trump’s Trust Test as Russia Revives Familiar Playbook -- (Web archive link)
... Trump was taking questions at the doorstep of his Mar-a-Lago residence on Tuesday ... when he offered a striking explanation for why he was “furious” over an alleged Ukrainian attack on Russian soil: Russian President Vladimir Putin had told him about it himself.
“You know who told me about it?” the president said, recounting claims that Ukraine had tried to strike one of Putin’s residences in northern Russia. “President Putin told me about it” ... Trump said he was “very angry” about the alleged attack, calling it an unacceptable escalation – even while conceding that the incident might not have happened at all.
“It’s possible too, I guess,” Trump said. “But President Putin told me this morning it did.”
For critics in Washington and Europe, the episode sharpened a long-simmering concern: Trump’s apparent readiness to accept Putin’s word at face value, even as Kyiv denied the claim and US intelligence agencies had not publicly confirmed it ...

"Trump's Trust Test."
Anyone who trusts Trump is a fool. So it's more a fool test than a trust test.
I hope they did. It obviously made the spineless coward scared. A shame they didn't manage to kill him though.
In year 2025, a foreign minister looking slightly like a horse makes a claim without video evidence.
I will first believe that a two-humped camel has been sighted in the forests of occupied Donbas. At least the video showed a camel and a forest, even if I don't know if it was Donbas. :)
