back in March 2025:

This was one of the several disasters that shook the Transatlantic relationship.( Nato Top, Tariffs, Mineral deal and the cancellation of Ukrainian aid are other examples). Europeans have tried to mend the rift and some believed it was (somewhat) working.

But since this week and after the latest "scandal", it's become clear to all memberstates, beyond doubt, that Trump's interests lie completely elsewhere.

It's not easy to change a relationship, it's structures and institutions which have stood for at least 70 -80 years.
