When the lawmaker later called the number affiliated with the order, it went to the state police in Indianapolis. Hoax pizza deliveries have been a favored tactic of MAGA supporters who have tried to enforce loyalty to Trump and his agenda...“The whole idea is, We know who you are. We know where you live,” the Indiana lawmaker said. “They’re trying to intimidate us.”

Decades of lying, cheating and stoking violence is backfiring on Republicans?! I'm shocked! Well, not that shocked.

[–] Manjushri@piefed.social 57 points 4 days ago (1 children)

The lawmaker said Republicans should be trying to win elections on the merits, not through gerrymandering: “If you’re not confident enough in your policies that you think that it’s going to have a negative impact on your politics, then maybe you need to be doing something different.”

A self-aware Republican politician? In Indiana?! Am I taking crazy pills?

[–] scintilla@crust.piefed.social 14 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I think it's important to know that there are two different types of republican politicians. The true believer and the grifter. A good example of the former is MTG she has beliefs that she will actually stick to and won't just go with whatever the party line is. However they will still always side with the Republicans they aren't good people they just actually have values.

[–] RunawayFixer@lemmy.world 14 points 4 days ago

MTG is absolutely a grifter though, she only changed her narrative when she was on the way out already. She's also planned her retirement from congress to be 2 days after she is entitled to a lifetime congressional pension. She's a grifter who's old grift has run it's course and so now she's attempting to pivot to something new, grifters gonna grift.

Amazing how Republican officials fear violence from their own base far more than their opposition…

[–] VitoRobles@lemmy.today 12 points 3 days ago

I mean yeah. The past few years, political assassinations were by right-winger extremists. And just like school shooting, nobody cares after a few days.

Lol Hoax pizza deliveries. So what we're saying here is that MAGA is 4chan. That makes absolutely perfect sense.

Same emotional intelligence.

Interesting how this is a right wing tactic.

I guess people on the left have more respect for the actual humans making and delivering the food.

Indiana leads the nation in cruelty, stupidity and selfishness. I've always said it was the worst state.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 9 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I wouldn't even put Indiana in the top 10 worst states.

[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I'm curious how you'd order it, but I agree that it's not quite in that top level of awfulness. In no particular order I'd definitely put Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama, Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky ahead of it. Next tier I'd say would be Indiana along with Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Missouri, Utah, and the Carolinas, maybe Georgia too.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Louisiana and ohio are definitely in the top tier, but the exact order would likely change day to day. And you completely forgot Idaho. Which somehow flies under the radar of shitbag states. Alaska is up there too.

[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Idaho and Alaska (along with Montana, Wyoming, and the Dakotas) didn't make the cut for me merely by small population size, though another way of thinking about that is they have higher suckitude per capita. And after looking it up Idaho is actually ahead of West Virginia in population, so I guess I'd throw it in the second tier, I just don't feel like I hear about Idaho's suckiness beyond a local or regional level, whereas West Virginia fucked us nationally with Joe Manchin.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Idaho probably has the highest rate of white supremacists per capita.

[–] MintyFresh@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

I won't defend Idaho's political make up, but at least it's got natural beauty, and a couple of cool ass old hippies hanging about. Indiana is even more policaly defunct, just with more pig shite. And Indiana is basically a ku klux clan state

[–] MintyFresh@lemmy.world 0 points 3 days ago

West Virginia at least gave us a couple of cool country bangers. Idaho has contributed ku klux clan

[–] hanrahan@piefed.social 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Surely that's the role of Texas ?

[–] MintyFresh@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Texas at least has good food, an interesting music scene. I assure you Indiana is just as loud racist and obnoxious with absolutely no cool stuff

[–] frog_brawler@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Mississippi is still a state. Indiana has nothing on Mississippi, or Alabama, or Louisiana.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 days ago

Seriously, let them at least have something.

[–] darkmarx@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

There is a line in The West Wing that comes to mind. "Indiana is voting for Richie (republican nominee). If there were someone less qualified than Richie, that's who Indiana would vote for."

[–] frog_brawler@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

If the left did the same shit, we might get things accomplished.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

If the left did this shit we'd be dead

[–] roofuskit@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, Trump and the other Nazis are literally trying right now to provoke a violent response out of the left so they can declare martial law, end all elections, and put us all into camps.

[–] fodor@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 days ago

You can't get baited into it when they don't need bait. They'll do whatever they think they can get away with and just lie about your actions.
