I'd rather see the anti coercion shield deployed upon the nazis attacking innocent fishermen and bullying the EU into paying 4x price gouged gas and also forced to accept human murder machines on the road. The same nazis that caused this rare earth export rule revision in the first place.
World News
A community for discussing events around the World
Rules:
-
Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:
- Post news articles only
- Video links are NOT articles and will be removed.
- Title must match the article headline
- Not United States Internal News
- Recent (Past 30 Days)
- Screenshots/links to other social media sites (Twitter/X/Facebook/Youtube/reddit, etc.) are explicitly forbidden, as are link shorteners.
- Blogsites are treated in the same manner as social media sites. Medium, Blogger, Substack, etc. are not valid news links regardless of who is posting them. Yes, legitimate news sites use Blogging platforms, they also use Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube and we don't allow those links either.
-
Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
-
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed. Sources that have a Low or Very Low factual reporting rating or MBFC Credibility Rating may be removed.
-
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.
-
Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF OCTOBER 19 2025
-
Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
-
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
-
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

where is there nazis attacking fisherman? is there a nazi group im not aware of? Also, china would of done this anyways as its good leverage for the EUV machines that TSML makes if the EU gets to the point that they ignore US sanctions
Stop watching fox news and you will know.
Also, that ASML call out has to be the single dumbest take I've read this week... Of all the arguments...
i dont watch fox news, im canadian, i really only watch the 6pm news to catch up on local stories. and that was a spelling mistake i meant to say ASML, thanks for fixing it for it. ASML is a big deal, because if china had thoese EUV machines, their drone tech would be even more dangerous with their drone carriers they have been building. If you follow china as well, they are getting off of windows for their OS nationwide, and most silicon (might be all) on devices are all in house chips, not using anything outside.
Isn't the US responsible for those restrictions in the first place?
America and the G7 nations are flailing, trying to coordinate, but they’re to incompetent and too corrupt. They have installed wealthy parasitic aristocracies that have gorged on the labor of common citizens. This aristocracy has interests that are at odds with this type of coalition building, and there is no cohesion with the common citizens, no way to manufacture consent and mobilize them against a boogy man on the other side of the planet.
China is not our problem. The wealthy who use our military might for their personal gain are.
China is also our problem. And not your friend.
Explain
Countries don’t have friends, they sometimes have aligning interests. Also, China is a repressive dictatorship.
“Countries” is so nebulous. I don’t trust the people in control of my country and their interests are not aligned with mine, nor are they aligned with the overall good of the populace, or what the populace wants, as evidenced by the difference between public policy polling and the policies that are actually enacted.
https://act.represent.us/sign/problempoll-fba
“Repressive dictatorship”, you say?
Yeah. If you read my comment carefully, you’ll find that I mentioned the US very few times. And, while there’s certainly a lot to criticize about American capitalism, especially of late, I think I prefer the culture with the deeply-embedded idea of personal liberty. Mind you, I wouldn’t want to live in either country
The United States largely dictates European geopolitics, through G7, NATO, IMF, etc. See “Pivot to Asia”. This policy that you’re advocating has come at the behest of the United States more than the EU as a sovereign entity.
Oh, I’m not advocating the policy of the current US regime. I also mostly agree with the first paragraph of your original comment. I don’t really see how the US can get out of the current slide towards overt fascism. My point is that China is not a great alternative, and that the values that are currently being trampled in Washington would have been preferable. I hope the EU can emerge as an alternative, but they have their own fascist problem as well, so I’m not too optimistic.
dont bother dude talking against china, alot of lemmy is pro-china and, also a large amount of lemmy users are either Marxists or tankies. they literally have their own echo chambers here for that just like the far-right has truth social.
"China bad"
