So, long story short, he has to be 1st in every single race and sprint if Piastri and Norris were 2nd and 3rd?

[–] Goodeye8@piefed.social 8 points 3 days ago

Not just 2nd and 3rd. Piastri and Norris would have to split the points between them for Verstappen to win.

Why not have him win the Brazil sprint as well? This also assumes a perfect 2/3 performance from McLaren, which isn't a guarantee. Their car isn't as fast as it was prior to the summer break, so plenty of room for mistakes that lead to less points.

If Piastri can't bounce back (Stella seems to think his current struggles are track-specific), then Norris is in the best position to win the WDC. Verstappen is still unlikely

To be fair, Norris is now leading the WDC standings, even if just by a single point, so naturally he has the best position to win the WDC. That said, it's still all but decided. A single DNF and everything is turned on its head

It will probably come up to how generous the FIA will be with him, again 😌

and none of them get a fastest lap point in any of those races.

F1 no longer hands out points for fastest lap.
