When peaceful protest fails, the government makes serious enemies of its people. I wonder if this turns into another “Troubles” for the UK.

Sincerely doubt it. The Troubles was a fight to end centuries-old apartheid rule by the victims of said apartheid. The government supporting genocide abroad is bad, but it doesn't have the kind of personal stakes that'd make car bombs start showing up.
And what of those violent right wing thugs rioting over us helping people who fled warzones?
