“There’ll be people that they’ll DM me like, ‘You see what your boy’s doing? You voted for this.’ I’m like, ‘I voted for none of this,’” he said. “He’s doing the exact opposite of everything I voted for. I want him to stop the wars—he’s funding them. I want him to shrink spending, reduce the budget—he’s increasing it.”

No, buddy. You DID vote for this. You absolutely voted for ALL of this because everything Trump is doing now, he promised, and campaigned on. And you yourself noted he's a Lying Liar that Lies. So you absofuckinglutely voted for all of what's going on right now.

“When you feel like the status quo will do nothing and change nothing, you have way more of a longer leash for the outsiders’ ideas than you do the status quo’s ideas,” he said. “And I think that was the idea with Trump, who’s like, ‘Maybe he will stop these wars.’ No. ‘Maybe we will see what’s up with this Epstein s–t.’ No.”

Take it from somebody who grew up as the Shitgibbon did. He used you. Just like he's used everyone else. You thought he'd expose himself as being a kiddy-diddler? Take the legal risk of being jailed, losing his whole Teflon schtick? Fuck no, that's for the LITTLE people. Like you!!! And maybe you can wrap your head around this little fact. All politicians have their issues, mainly because the guy you pick is opposed by everyone else who wants the pie all to their own. But Trump is worse than most!

I mean, he did tell them that he would only deport the baddies, or not cut Medicaid, or release the Epstein docs, or end wars instantly, or have 60 deals in 60 days, etc etc etc.

He lies and he’s famously good at getting certain people to believe his lies.

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, ok, fine, but he's also famously contradictory. You have to believe the worst promise of any politician, but him especially.

By now people should know it’s always Opposite Day with them, oh and there’s a book called Project 2025, all written down. Time to start reading for once and learn.

[–] TommySoda@lemmy.world 83 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Well, you did actually. You just decided to ignore what everyone was warning you about and call it "fear mongering." People have been warning you since July of last year and you specifically chose to ignore it.

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 43 points 1 day ago (3 children)

People have been warning you since ~~July of last year~~ January 2017 and you specifically chose to ignore it.

[–] TommySoda@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago

For real. The only people that are surprised are the willfully ignorant. This shit has been a long time coming.

[–] teft@piefed.world 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Since June 2015 that’s when he declared his first run for president. Anyone who knew anything about him could have told you what was going to happen. We had decades of info on his racist scamming ways.

The fuck, was this guy an idiot?

"Maybe he will stop these wars." Fucking LOL, are you kidding me? He was literally campaigning on glassing Gaza and turning it into beachfront property for the wealthy. "Maybe we'll see what's up with this Epstein shit". The man was neck deep in Epstein shit. How many pictures of Trump and Epstein together over the years do you need? He's probably got more pictures of him with Epstein than he has of his own kids. "Seeing what's up with this Epstein shit" would mean him finding a nice new home on the sex offender registry.

You knew what he was like. You spent the entire election season stumping for him on your podcast. You helped create this. You don't get to play dumb and absolve yourself of responsibility for your role in allowing all of this to happen in the first place. Fuck you.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 35 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Deep down, I think this guy knows all those reasons are bullshit, too. But he uses them because he doesn't want to publicly admit the real reason -- he would never vote for anyone with a vagina.

[–] NielsBohron@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I don't know this particular asshole, but IME, the racism is typically more important than the misogyny for MAGA-types (but it's a pretty tight race)

[–] LadyMeow@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I mean…. Hillary is white. Buuuut…. Does have a vagina, soooo

Don't worry, by the time the next election comes along he'll be back in the GOP's good graces, because there's no way he'd vote for a liberal....

[–] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Either that or he’ll vote for Musk’s Epic Based Lulz Party

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

.... then later he will complain about all these things that he wil claim he didn't see coming. Maybe we should call Elon's new party the Not-See's....

"I'm incredibly selfish and stupid, and because of that, I didn't realize what I was voting for." FTFY

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 27 points 1 day ago

We already had him in office for four years and it was a disaster. So what do these stupid fuckers do? VOTE FOR HIM AGAIN. I get the cultists who worship him doing that, they're thoroughly brainwashed, but there is NO excuse for anyone else to be surprised by this shit.

[–] Bubbaonthebeach@lemmy.ca 27 points 22 hours ago

If any Trump voter was honest, they'd say "I didn't vote for this...to happen to me, my family, my friends." They damn well voted for it, with the expectation that it would only shit on "others".

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 11 points 18 hours ago

We're all getting what they deserve.

[–] fittedsyllabi@lemmy.world 25 points 1 day ago (16 children)

If you voted for Trump, you voted for all he stands for. ALL OF IT. Stop crying and trying save face. Own your shit.

You voted for all of it, you dumb fool. It was all written down in Project 2025. We tried to warn you.

[–] MushuChupacabra@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago

So the whole world is suffering, because he wilfully ignored every indicator that Trump would absolutely behave this way.

With any luck, someone who matters to him will be scooped by ICE. That way, he can also experience the intense fear and anxiety that comes from voting enthusiastically for tyranny.

[–] ZombieMantis@lemmy.world 19 points 17 hours ago

Yes you did.

[–] OhStopYellingAtMe@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago

There is no font size large enough, no billboard big enough, to post the phrase:

WE TOLD YOU SO

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 18 points 18 hours ago

Yes, you fucking did. I'm so sick of them trying to dodge blame after the fact. Oh, and if you stayed home...? You also voted for this.

[–] alexc@lemmy.world 18 points 23 hours ago

I‘m sick of hearing people say this - It‘s exactly what they voted for. What I would prefer to hear them say is WHY they feel they made a mistake. What about Trumps rhetoric then is disconnected from his current deeds?

I suspect the usual reason is that it‘s impacted them personally and they didn‘t think it would. It‘s the reverse of the boy who cried wolf

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Funny how the deciding factor for Trump supporters is not knowing anything about what he would do once in office.

Like, for fucking real, nothing they've done has surprised progressives. We all knew this would happen.

[–] smol_beans@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

Welcome these people with open arms. These are people that can be swayed and if you care about defeating fascism you should be interested in swaying them. You might enjoy dunking on them (which is fine) just as long as you're not actively pushing them away.

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 5 points 1 day ago (2 children)

There is a path to redemption, but this guy isn’t on it.

You might enjoy dunking on them (which is fine) just as long as you're not actively pushing them away.

The easiest way is to enlist their involvement in dunking on the actual politicians, officials, and policymakers. A fascist movement relies heavily on a reluctant populace complying in advance, which is why little pieces of resistance can be effective against fascists. Humor, sarcasm, and outright mockery of the people giving the flimsy orders diminishes their power by persuading the public that there won't be consequences for those who ignore those orders.

It's not going to be enough by itself, but having the apolitical comedians turn against fascism is still a useful thing to have on our side.

[–] 7112@lemmy.world 14 points 23 hours ago
[–] Jaysyn@lemmy.world 14 points 18 hours ago

Yes you did. We even told you in advance.

The problem is, you're a fucking moron.

No, dipshit, you voted for all of this - you were (in the most charitable case) just too fucking dumb and incurious to understand what the fuck you were voting for

[–] salacious_coaster@infosec.pub 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

In Trump's first campaign commercial back in 2015, he promised to "bomb Iran and take their oil." That's a direct quote of Trump's words that I will never forget because it was so shocking, at the time, for a politician to just say things like that.

Point is, more war was the first thing he promised. And we all had at least ten years to get wise to his bullshit.

[–] ravenaspiring@sh.itjust.works 11 points 20 hours ago

In an April sit-down, former transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg schooled Schulz and his co-hosts for believing in Trump’s promises.

I wanna see this.

[–] IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world 11 points 18 hours ago

as political campaign, conservatives were painfully open on what they were going to do.

no trump voter gets to say "I didn't vote for this"

[–] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago (2 children)

The thing is, I can relate a bit. I voted for Fetterman, and I have been extremely disappointed by his turnaround.

The difference is, Fetterman is not doing what he said he would do. Trump is doing exactly what he said he would do.

He wants to argue that what he voted for was the end result he wanted. No shit. That's what we all vote for. We all vote for a better life. It's not a snap your fingers thing. You are ignoring the ??? Part of the underwear gnomes problem. He promised these actions and all people who know shit said these actions don't lead to that result.

It's like hiring a fitness instructor who says he will make you thin but eating snack cakes and laying in a recliner. Then you complain when you gain weight. Because you hired him to get healthy? No, you hired him to eat garbage and believed eating garbage would cause you to be healthier.

Lead needs to be reintroduced to gasoline so that there is at least some excuse for being this stupid.

Dude slathers himself in antelope guts, jumps the fence into the leopard enclosure, then complains about his face having been eaten.

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Trump isn't doing anything different than he did last time; the only change is scope.

This dipshit really thought that Trump would expose Epstein's clients even though he wished Ghislane Maxwell well? You have to be a special kind of stupid to fall for that.

Holy fuck, why is it that every person who posts on Lemmy about Andrew Schulz does the same dumb shit?

His name is Andrew Schulz. Shine a light on the rat.
