The job landscape in tech is pretty terrible right now. A friend had tried breaking into a different career path and when it didn't work out, he was unemployed for maybe eight months trying to come back to tech work. He's awesome in every way, so that says a lot to me about how bleak the situation is. (We went out to get drinks to celebrate his new job last week.)
