Vice President JD Vance’s Bluesky account was suspended within minutes of him joining the platform. His posts criticized medical treatments for transgender youth and claimed pharmaceutical influence over healthcare decisions.

How does banning work on bluesky? Is it instance based or network wide.

As he said, it is a place for common sense discussion. Which just happens to be no place for him and his ilk.

If I had to be my-name-1 I'd probably just quit out of embarrassment

I still can't believe that a deranged asshole like him is legally allowed to be VP of a nuclear power

Honestly just let people have their own opinion as long as they don't really fight. Remember that your opinions were suppressed in the past and that now you're basically becoming exactly what the governments were at the time.

On the matter of access to such medication for kids, hell no. Everyone knows kids aren't mature adults and they make stupid decisions. Some may try it because of curiosity, lack of knowledge or even as an act of rebellion against parents/guardians. And that will result at least in loss of fertility. Where did the "adults should protect children" go? Are we only protecting them from predators now? Then might as well let them drink alcohol and buy antipsychotics without prescription.

Btw a mandatory medical examination and a lecture from the doctor about the risks would be nice before making such a decision. Privacy concerns are there but physical safety first imo.

All of the above is obviously my personal opinions.
