The story reads as totally normal. Not many men change their name that much but, "I want the same last name as my grandma who I love very much and not my second dad who I don't talk to" feels right and good and maybe even sweet. The man's a monster. This is fine.

It's weird I said "men" here. In the US women usually change their names once and men never. But adoption and grandma and going by initials are all changes I've seen and understand.

Americans are lucky to be able to change their last names on a whim. In France, you need a valid reason, like your name being a slur or something like that.

Elon for me is 6 stars General Musk because not even 4 stars generals have been EVER given the power that dude was allowed to have, he went to every single US government agency, got their data and told them to surrender to his wishes to include NSA and CIA. so there is only a one 5 star general and that's during times of war and musk had even more power than all of them combined so he's 6 stars general Musk daddy of the CIA/NSA/Intelligence Community/and Pentagon. 🤭

Last I heard it was Jorkin Depeanus. That’s what I’ve been referring to them as.
