"Oh, I think you guys are at the wrong rally. You meant to go to the smaller one down the street."

Expert level burn.

[–] x00z@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago

Thanks for the anti-clickbait.

Not very difficult to one-up MAGA people. But she was badass for saying that and off-the-cuff like that. I still didn't vote for her, but props to her!

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I still didn’t vote for her

Fuck you for not voting against Trump.

[–] UniversalMonk@lemmy.world -1 points 7 months ago (2 children)

I'm allowed to vote for whoever I want to. As are you. Thank you! :)

[–] ChronosTriggerWarning@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

And no one's stopping you from wearing your red hat, either.

[–] UniversalMonk@lemmy.world -1 points 7 months ago

True. If I wanted to wear my red hat, I could. No laws against it. No rules against it. Thank you, friend! :)

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Yes, you are free to vote for whoever you want to and I'm free to call you a shithead for not voting against Trump.

[–] Draghetta@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Yeah that will change his mind, what kind of reasonable individual wouldn’t be swayed by calling them a shithead.

You should consider joining one of those things where they call people on the phone to make them vote, just please do it for the republicans.

[–] bibliotectress@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (2 children)

If someone by now isn't concerned about defeating Trump, there's literally nothing we can do about it other than to call them out for being a shitbag for voting 3rd party.

It must be nice to have the luxury of making a protest vote. They must think their life wouldn't change either way.

[–] Draghetta@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Hey don’t get me wrong I think his decision of voting for a third party is really really really stupid, I don’t think we disagree here.

But the political discourse in the current time is dead, and it’s polarisation that killed it. There can be no healthy democracy in an environment where opponents are not seen as dignified people who you disagree with.

I’m doing my part here to keep democracy alive. This guy is somebody who has ideas I find to be very wrong, but is still a guy like me and you who is doing the best he can like me and you, albeit misguidedly.

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

But the political discourse in the current time is dead, and it’s polarisation that killed it.

"Not being polite to fascists is the real problem!"

Fuck you too.

[–] UniversalMonk@lemmy.world -1 points 7 months ago

Classy. And proving their point. Good job!

[–] UniversalMonk@lemmy.world -1 points 7 months ago

I can appreciate that. And it's exactly how I feel. People seem to have forgotten how to agree to disagree. And like you, I think that's why the country is so divided.

I have friends of all political flavors. That's the beauty of democracy!

Thank you, and sorry of all the downvotes and accusations you're going to get for not automatically hating me! :)

[–] UniversalMonk@lemmy.world -1 points 7 months ago

I don't care if Trump wins. I also don't care if Harris wins. I didn't vote for either one. Thank you! :)

[–] UniversalMonk@lemmy.world -1 points 7 months ago

Yep, doesn't change the facts tho. And doesn't change that fact that there are plenty of other people who'll be voting third party as well. Name calling may not be the best way to approach things. But you do you. Thanks! :)

[–] TheFonz@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

When there is nothing at stake for you you have the luxury of voting third party. That is essentially a vote for Trump. We know you know this because it's been explained to you in every post. Must be nice having all that privilege.

The rest of us, in the meantime have to live with the consequences of your decision. As parents, as students saddled with debt, as members of every minority community under attack, as children whose school lunches are being taken away, as children of DACA: a very hearty fuck you from the bottom of our hearts.

[–] UniversalMonk@lemmy.world -1 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (3 children)

Must be nice having all that privilege.

I grew up in poverty, I'm biracial, bisexual, poor, uneducated, and my job in public elementary school pays shit--a school by the way, where I deal directly with kids who's school lunches (and breakfasts!) are an issue.

Oh yeah, plus I'm fucking old and face age-discrimination every day.

Yeah, friend, all this privilege is awesome! Funny tho, I thought privilege would be way more awesome. :/

[–] Valmond@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Might be true but very "as a black man" vibes. Especially with your post history being pro Trump (who hates bis, non whites, poor people etc).

Guess this will get moderated soon because you only know hate and violence.

[–] UniversalMonk@lemmy.world -1 points 7 months ago

I'm not pro-Trump and I've already voted. And I didn't vote for him. Thank you! :)

[–] TheFonz@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

There are only two options based on this statement and calling them out will violate community rules.

Sorry, I know it and everyone else on this platform knows you're making this up.

If you did vote third party in this election you actively voted for the party that is legislating (and has already succeeded in some states) to remove school lunches. We know you know this.

Now fuck right off with your lies.

[–] UniversalMonk@lemmy.world -1 points 7 months ago

So which part are you saying I'm lying about though?

[–] vxx@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

Did you just list 70% of the issues the Harris campaign wants to get sorted as your own issues, and you still don't think there's anything in it for you if they win?

Gotta be a troll. I can't believe anyone acting against their own interests in such a stark way.

[–] UniversalMonk@lemmy.world -1 points 7 months ago

I happily voted for my Socialist candidate. Thank you! :)

[–] colmear@discuss.tchncs.de 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I didn’t vote for her as I am not American. What is your excuse for supporting the criminal felon Trump?

[–] UniversalMonk@lemmy.world -1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I didn't vote for him. Thanks!

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 0 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

You did. Just in a roundabout way.

There are two candidates that matter, and only one sane choice. A vote against the sane choice is a vote for the sociopath.

[–] UniversalMonk@lemmy.world -1 points 7 months ago

I didn't vote "against" anyone. I voted "for" someone. I voted for the person I wanted to vote for. Thank you! :)
