Attending an indoor sports meet this weekend for my kid and can't help but see that half the parents are working on their laptops. It hurts me inside to see people having to work on the weekend, especially so many. Is this hustle? Or is this just part of the job?

Either way, people need to be free on their weekends or it will drive you nuts. This work culture isn't healthy.

Maybe they work flex time, so they can take time off during the week to do other stuff with their family. Or maybe they're not working at all, could be organizing sports stuff for their kid. Or doing an online class or something.

I'll say that's possible. Most of the people I saw were in Excel, Outlook, or working on large documents. My natural curiosity wants me to start taking a census if only to disprove my thoughts.

Still, never work on the weekends if you don't have to.
