How do you think elections work?

If the majority of people don't vote, they don't cancel the Presidency.

You don't worry about the ideal ship when you're drowning.

They're talking about primaries, not the general election. In primaries you focus on finding the best candidate. In the general election you vote for the least fascist major alternative, but that's later.
