Last I checked, it does not work well at all and I don't think much progress has been made on that issue yet
You might be able to figure out how to get something to sort of work on your own, but you're certainly not going to be able to follow a Minecraft guide block-for-block. It does not work the same way. There are some details in those threads that may help you, but again I don't know if anything has changed in the meantime.
I noticed a couple of diferences that can greatly afect mob farms. First slabs dont blok the light, i dont know why, i consider this a bug.
If you want a dark room you need to use full blocks. Second i think that mobs dont spawn on slabs even if they are in “top posicion”.. Consider this also as bug. There are a lot of bugs in redstone. I dont have single redstone build that isnt braking from time to time..
But lckly iron farm is not using any redstone and is working wonderfuly!
I think mineclonia is more accurate for Redstone.
