Getting a little fatigued with these "Obscure Software vX.Y.Z released!!1" with no explanation of what it is, especially when it's overly difficult to find out what the software is by even visiting the site linked.

100% agreed. I can take the heat and be ofensive, I downvote almost all that don't write a description.
Right. I want to know whether I should care about this thing I've never heard of, because it seems very important due to the post on social media.
Sometimes there will be posts for releases that don't really bring anything new as well, and it's like... ๐ฎโ๐จ
In simpler words:
Operating system is on flash drive
Do funny stuff on OS
Remove flash drive
All evidence of funny stuff gone
