i wonder why a plastic lens. won't that get scratched potentially? why not saphire?

I mean your not scratching your eyeballs and they do a good job keeping stuff out. Have you ever scratched your lens? I know people who have and it's irritating.

yeah but sometimes stuff gets in, though I guess without an eyelid that may not be an issue
