DOHA, March 3 (Reuters) - A plan for Gaza drawn up by Egypt as a counter to U.S. President Donald Trump's ambition for a Middle East Riviera would sideline Hamas and replace it with interim bodies controlled by Arab, Muslim and Western states, according to a draft seen by Reuters.

As Palestinians released from #Israeli imprisonment recount torture and other abuse suffered at the hands of their former captors, the Trump administration on Friday approved a new $3 billion weapons package for #Israel.

The new package, reported by Zeteo's Prem Thakker, includes nearly $2.716 billion worth of bombs and weapons guidance kits, as well as $295 million in bulldozers.

"Trump has given tacit approval to Israeli actions since the ceasefire came into effect on January 19. More than 90 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza by Israeli attacks. Israel has also violated the ceasefire by obstructing the delivery of heavy machinery to start clearing away rubble; preventing the delivery of mobile homes and tents to temporarily shelter the people of Gaza, especially in the almost totally destroyed north; delaying the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners; and now by refusing to leave the Philadelphi Corridor.

All of this has taken place without comment from Washington. Trump has gotten what he most wanted in the short term, a ceasefire and more hostages freed. He may well see all the remaining Israeli hostages returned home, and that will be his victory. "

TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) — Israel stopped the entry of all goods and supplies into the Gaza Strip on Sunday and warned of “additional consequences” if Hamas doesn’t accept a new proposal to extend a fragile ceasefire, while key mediator Egypt accused Israel of using “starvation as a weapon.”

"In Gaza, CNN footage from the European Hospital in Khan Younis showed three prisoners arrive in ambulances to the intensive care unit, where they were greeted by loved ones.

One prisoner, who was embraced by his son, was provided with oxygen, while another appeared very weak.

Others who disembarked from Red Cross buses also appeared weak and thin, with some having difficulty walking.

One freed man was welcomed by his wife and children, who cried as they hugged him tightly. “I was so afraid. Every day I prayed that they were doing well,” he said. "
