Cops are doing this in the US too.

Because the vast majority of Western nations (including the US) consider it to be a war crime to deliberately make a military strike against survivors of an attack that pose no active threat.

Even that assumes that the original strike has military merit in the first place, which isn't really the case when they are blowing up unarmed boats that might or might not be carrying drugs.

I guess some of these people expect to still be around in a couple years when there is a new administration that might feel like it's a good idea to prosecute people for crimes they committed for trump.

You expect Costco to sue on behalf of your company for tariffs paid by your company?

[–] UnspecificGravity@infosec.pub 3 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Right, except the problem is that it creates a very easy argument under which everyone involved COULD be prosecuted. Probably not by THIS DOD, but we still have elections in America and this makes it easy for the next bunch.

The manual is the interpretation of the meaning of existing laws. Its not new law and changing the manual doesn't change the law. And neither Hesgeth or Trump have the authority to change those laws just because they want to.

Oh look, exactly what Mark Kelly was talking about. Shit rolls down hill guys. Remember that when someone orders you to murder people.

My stepson works for Costco. They are a fantastic employer compared to other retailers. They also do legitimately promote from within, including for business office professional positions.

For real.

Yes, Trump is the one fucking us. Yes, Harris wouldn't have fucked us this hard.

But these aren't problems we would have if the DNC had decided to do an actual primary instead of just handing their reins over to a senile old man and his hand-picked successor. That isn't how democracy works and its a big part of why we are so fundamentally fucked right now.

Its not really the ads that are the signal so much as the fact that they are slapping ads onto it BEFORE it has developed enough to actually be a useful product. They have direct competition that is not ad supported and they just "aren't there yet" in terms of making a product that everyone feels like they need to engage with regardless of ads. Slapping ads on something before its actually demonstrated the ability to succeed as a product is just rolling the dice to see if it makes money magically appear. Its desperation.

I dropped them back when they started throwing money at Joe Rogan. That told me everything I needed to know about them.
