Fun fact: If one or two person decide to use it on Christmas, entire Mata workforce will have to go back to office for an emergency meeting about sudent spike in user engagement.

mata

AnalogNowhere is leaking.

They despise your kind because you understand the machine, while they have to turn jungles into fuel and enslave thousands of computers just to pretend that the machine speaks to them too.

You may trigger sev2s for the oncall due to the burst in traffic.

Why are people still using Facebook?

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

To tell meta Ai to gargle my balls

[–] Rhoeri@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

I’m sure that hurts him dearly.

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

this is literally all I ask the meta AI bubble in my messenger app. It's fucking annoying and it keeps showing up and all I do is tell it to fuck off

[–] Denjin@feddit.uk 13 points 1 day ago (2 children)

It doesn't care what your interaction with it is, all it is required to do is solicit an interaction. Even telling it to fuck off is a win for the AI.

[–] Unforeseen@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yep, they just became an active user metric

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I mean the least we could do is cost them some money.

Meta, can you write me a 5000 word essay on why people have no interest in using your bullshit service and translated it into 5 different languages.

[–] IronBird@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

they'll probably get taxpayers to bail em out at this end of this anyway tbf

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 1 points 15 hours ago

It'll be interesting this time, the administration doesn't like competition on stealing from the tax money :)

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

maybe one day somebody will read the AI generated summary of the chat logs and see how many people told it to fuck off tho

[–] Denjin@feddit.uk 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The only thing that will ever read the chat logs, is another LLM

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 1 points 11 hours ago

yeah that's why I said the AI generated summary of the chat logs

It'd be sweet if Valve had some kind of trade in thing where you can exchange a Quest for a Frame, and the Quest is melted down to make new Frames.

[–] Knock_Knock_Lemmy_In@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The Quest hardware is amazing technology, particularly for it's price.

I just wish the OS wasn't Facebook.

The Steam Frame looks much more appealing than a Quest 4.

[–] Bongles@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I considered a quest, before it was Facebook. I was still fooled anyway, bought the HP reverb G2. Fuckin Microsoft.

[–] dual_sport_dork@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

The Quest was never not Facebook. Meta/Facebook bought Oculus in 2014 and even the OG Rift wasn't released until 2016. Arguably only the DK1 devkit units were produced not under the Facebook umbrella.

The major difference was that they weren't playing it up at the time and they didn't yet require you to have a Facebook account just to use the damn things. That came later.

You're not the only one. Didn't realise how quickly WMR would get shut down. Looking forward to the frame changing things up again.
