A rank incompetent with enough armed sycophants is enough to retain power.

“The odds of him violating the Constitution to seek a third term are remote and even if he did, it’s difficult to see how a four-time GOP nominee in his 80s with an underwater approval rating could defeat a standard Democrat who has triumphed in a primary."
That's adorable, this guy thinks the Democrats are having a primary. It will be more like a coronation for Gavin.
I remember back in 2008 when the role of Gavin Newsome was played by Hillary Clinton.
Exactly, and Democrats learned their lesson! They will never take a chance on an actual contested primary again. It will look like it's contested, because there will be several people running, but after the first few primaries most of them will bail and throw their support to the Next One Up, to make sure the desired outcome is achieved.
That would be silly. Obama won and Hillary didn't.
Yes, that was 16 years ago. Every "contested" primary since then has been engineered to get the Next One Up over the goal line. They did it with Hillary, and with Biden. Then they skipped over the primaries entirely for Harris.
Fuck Gavin, he is the very definition of empty, performative theater masquerading as center left politics.
If I was planning to run as a Republican in the next presidential election I would be preying I get to run against Gavin Newsom, he is as close to a Republican's sneering idea of an elitist smarmy corporate Democrat as you can get.
How long is going to take your country to realize that the Dems don’t actually care about you either? There’s the “haves”, and the “have nots”.
Based on polling the US public is there already, the US just isn't functional enough of a democracy for it to matter.
OK weirdo
