Don't worry, today (9/17/2025) is the day that the house committee deliberates on Macro Rubio's ability to use the people's freedom of speech as evidence of terrorist organisation aid.

H.R. 5300, SEC. 226. NO PASSPORTS FOR TERRORISTS AND TRAFFICKERS

So it's just a matter of time before all the Antifas are sent to concentration camps.

Im so confused. Are real people out there openly in favor of “fascism”?

[–] kryptonianCodeMonkey@lemmy.world 48 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

Some people are openly fascist, yes. Thanks to the stupid fucking Jubbilee VS videos, I now know the depths of human stupidity are more boundless than I imagined.

However, I think this person just can't connect the dots that being anti-anti-fascism is just being pro-fascism. They don't actually think about the words they use, their meaning or their context. They just know that "antifa" is a left wing group, and left-wing, of course, bad, obviously. And since "antifa" stands for "anti-fascism", anyone that are "anti-fascists", including historical figures who lived and fought fascism well before the Antifa group existed, are the same as this modern group, and therefore left-wing, which, again, bad. They don't then take the next step in logic to, "if the anti-fascists were bad for opposing fascism, then fascism must be good. Praise Mussolini." Again, some do get there, but most are just thoughtless dum-dums.

It reminds me of when you ask people "If you are driving 80 miles PER HOUR, how long will it take for you to drive 80 miles?" And then they start guessing random shit or trying to logic it out or do math instead of just understand what the hell is being said. Weird mental gymnastics ensue that just demonstrate their complete lack of understanding.

What are you confused about? The current US administration is very openly fascist.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 11 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Yes, but they don't call it that. Nazis and fascism are "bad," regardless of how perfectly they embody their ideology.

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 9 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

They pretty much reinvented it from conservatism. It's like carcinization, crustaceans evolving into crabs, but various right-wing flavors evolving into fascism.

Nearly half of America seems to be although I'd argue they're too stupid to even realize it.

[–] darvocet@infosec.pub 16 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

They are like "nuh uh. You're the facist." When you read them the definition of the word they say google changed it.

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 11 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

It's so fucking infuriating... The very same "facts over feelings" group will deny the veracity of any fact provided unless it comes directly from their propagandist of choice...

[–] Denjin@feddit.uk 4 points 2 hours ago

People seem to have forgotten that the core conceit of George Orwell's 1984 isn't the surveillance state or the constant war or the two minutes hate and all the rest. It's the idea that by perverting what people even understand as truth you can get them to do anything.

Anti-fascists are Fascists, criticising someone who spouted hate speech is hate speech, anti-racism is racist.

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

[–] Hector@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

More charitably we can say half the population trusts their tribal influencers to know what they are doing.

Before you go condemning them all, the tribal influencers telling people The Establishment Democrats know what they are doing or also misleading people. And people still do not seem to realize it.

Everyone trusts the wrong people.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 12 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

There are real people out there that have no idea what fascism is. They think it's a movement that will ensure they have a stable job and that will just gently ensure that people with colored skin stay out.

They'd be fairly innocent if it wasn't for the rampant racism

[–] CubitOom@infosec.pub 2 points 8 hours ago

I don't know all these elitist words, but I heard that Antifa is a well organized Communist terrorist organisation!

[–] NochMehrG@feddit.org 40 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

There is a great song by the German punk band „Team Scheiße“, „FA“, with the refrain „Bist du anti Antifa, bist du Fa“ which translates to „If you’re anti Antifa, you’re fa[shist]. A bit simplistic but true.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 14 points 8 hours ago

Wouldn't expect anything more poetic from "Team Shit."

[–] Naich@lemmings.world 29 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Just another word going through the right wing meaning-mangling-machine.

[–] wetbeardhairs@lemmy.dbzer0.com 23 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago) (1 children)

People need to stop letting rightards redefine words. Whenever I hear someone railing about antifa I show them this picture and ask which side are they on. I'm not some edgelord in a trenchcoat with a fedora either. It actually makes them stammer and back out of that position in a fucking hurry.

Hey the image isn’t loading for me for lemmy related reasons, what’s the picture of?

[–] darkdemize@sh.itjust.works 9 points 7 hours ago (2 children)

The Allied assault on Normandy beach.

[–] Carnelian@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago

Gotcha gotcha thank you!

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 5 points 5 hours ago

Some unamerican antifa activists going about their woke business.

[–] Quill7513@slrpnk.net 24 points 9 hours ago

my outlook is that antifa is active antihate. to be anti antifa is to be pro hate, pro fascist, pro genocide

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 12 points 9 hours ago (5 children)

Do liberals actually consider Churchill Antifa?

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 24 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

By the strictest definition, I guess I can see it. He opposed Hitler, the most visible fascist of the 20th century, so he's an anti-fascist.

[–] lennybird@lemmy.world 7 points 8 hours ago

He could've been ProFa and joined Hitler, so I'm also grateful for that.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 1 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah but by that definition Hitler was a socialist!

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 6 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

No, he actually opposed a fascist. Nothing Hitler did was socialist.

I don't know what Antifa even means but my mom says it's communist so I hate it!

[–] TheMightyCat@ani.social 5 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Anyone who thinks a state leader of one of the most destructive empires in modern human history is not fascist...

This is the same empire that tried to destroy evidence of global wrongdoing in what they called Operation Legacy.

Ultimately, the Germans were just a bit fascist-er.

[–] 0x0@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 hours ago

You mean the empire that brought us Gaza and Kashmir? Fascist? Naaah

It's shorter than saying you're exclusively pro-do, pro-re, pro-me, pro-so, pro-la, and pro-ti.

[–] Hector@lemmy.world 10 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

You joke but we are looking at a whole rewrite of History, multiple times over depending on State. States like Tennessee already made it illegal to teach any history that makes someone feel uncomfortable. That was years back.

It will be an easy transition because they don't really teach history anyway. Back in the seventies that used to teach history, by the '80s and '90s they did not in any real way and had a very cursory and manipulated history they taught.

[–] CubitOom@infosec.pub 3 points 2 hours ago

I joke so I can make people feel an emotional connection to what is actually happening around them as they acknowledge the cognitive dissonance and reality.

Um...I mean...terrorists identified by Marco Rubio don't deserve passports

[–] UltraMagnus0001@lemmy.world 9 points 4 hours ago

Oh brother, 1984's doublespeak

DOA in the Senate, if it even gets that far.

[–] CubitOom@infosec.pub 1 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Sorry liberal, Republicans have 53 seats in the Senate.

We are going to own the libs and Antifa by making them our slave labor source.

[–] Trevita17@lemmy.world 4 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

They need 60 votes in the Senate to pass this, doofus.
