Trump is about to find out how wonderfully petty Brazil can be. Elon Musk found out earlier. They are also the 9th largest economy in the world, 5th largest country, the world leader in alternative fuels, and leader on the global south in food security. Also thanks to new agreements with China and EU they really need the US.

They also are the largest producers of sugar, beef, coffee and chocolate.

[–] FabledAepitaph@lemmy.world 23 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Will be hilarious to see beef skyrocket. These country folk don't know how to eat anything else and still think of themselves as "men"

[–] Booboofinget@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

It's going to a rough world without coffee and chocolate too.

[–] YesButActuallyMaybe@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 day ago

Mericans will stare you in the eye and argue that merican beef is the beefiest beef any day

Did you mean to say they didn't need the US?

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 44 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Yeah, but he thinks that's what the president of the US actually is. I can't blame him for that; he's a dumb guy, and most dumb people in this country think that being president means controlling the entire world. Its not even supposed to be controlling the entire USA!

[–] freeman@sh.itjust.works 22 points 2 days ago

That however is not a Trump thing, 'leader of the free world ' and all that bullshit.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 24 points 2 days ago (3 children)

If there are any countries besides America in the world I'd like to see them.

You should check out Estonia, if you can. Great country bordering Russia, really cool people, and really beautiful scenery to be found all over. The Old Town (Vanalinn) is incredible, especially during the winter, with its amazing medieval architecture, like Paks Margareeta (Fat Margaret), a really wide tower built in the early 16th century.

Absolutely can’t recommend enough an extended visit.

Their comments always bare and bear great wisdom.

[–] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

I would like to see them too Maybe I'll take a cruise or something

[–] opus86@lemmy.today 18 points 2 days ago (2 children)

The thing is, Trump was president once already and should have a good idea about it. He still doesn't. He is still clueless.

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago

Do you seriously expect him to remember that long ago

[–] VinesNFluff@pawb.social 2 points 1 day ago

Bold of you to assume incompetence and not malice

[–] supamanc@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

We recognise that some people may find bringing freedom to brown children distasteful, thats why we offer our corporate media package. An entire media industry is standing by to white wash and justify everything you do - rest assured that you will never recieve any negative press whilst we are om the job!

And now with the angry Canadians to the north ready to snatch up land...

[–] HugeNerd@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago

Have cash, will travel. I'd like some North Carolina beachfront property. You got any?

I'll trade you ... two gallons of drinking water, a bag of flour, and some salt?

[–] tal@lemmy.today 10 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Speaking through an interpreter, Lula also expressed disappointment at Trump’s approach, saying at first that he couldn’t believe the US president’s social media post was authentic.

First time, Lula?

[–] b_tr3e@feddit.org 19 points 2 days ago

That was a rethoric device meaning Lula assumed that Trump had at least some rudimentary decency in him.

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 10 points 2 days ago

I wish politics and politicians didn't have to care so much about keeping that farcical decorum. I bet at least 20 country leaders would've called trump "a fucking lunatic | out of his damned mind | a deranged sockhole" on all the news outlets otherwise

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 9 points 1 day ago

Good. More countries need to stand up to our mad king.

[–] TankovayaDiviziya@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Trump is an elected emperor with his new clothes on, while strings are attached to him being fingered by oligarchs.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I was in a band called Fingered by Oligarchs.

For some reason, we had great difficulty booking corporate gigs 🤷

[–] athairmor@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

You’re all probably too old for them.

[–] womjunru@lemmy.cafe 2 points 2 days ago

Great, I got that visual. Thanks.

[–] selkiesidhe@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

Good on you Brazil. Stick to your metaphorical guns on this because TACO
