Your comment is very insightful and I agree with your observations. As a European one tends to focus too much on the places around the world which keep doing things right. Latin America truly is an unsung hero, what with the kind of economical troubles they have been going through. One would think they would be far more susceptible to demagogues and propaganda than nations of the so-called "western hemisphere".
