Meh, minecraft is not so bad. Its pretty much legos. Did it change much? I played it in beta and never since.
Microsoft enshittified the fuck out of it
base Minecraft is still there (except in bedrock, bedrock is super enshittified with official servers and ads and stuff and they make it difficult to connect to your own self hosted server, it's fucked)
but java, you can still play just like old times, for the most part. shittier launcher. more login annoyances. but that's about it in my experience.
Then you've played it more than me. I said my kid is obsessed, not me. I don't know why everyone is chatting me up about it tbh
My point is, you should try it and play with him, because it's legos and everyone understands legos and has an imagination waiting to be awoken.
I have tried it, it's not my thing. Don't worry, we're a pretty creative family overall.
