https://www.ticketclinicgeorgia.com/blog/georgias-slow-poke-law-what-you-need-to-know/

if you’re in the left lane and notice a faster car approaching from behind, you’re legally required to move over to the right lane to let them pass.

Georgia isn’t alone in implementing such regulations. States like Florida, Indiana, New Jersey, and Tennessee have enacted similar “left-lane” laws aimed at preventing drivers from unnecessarily occupying the passing lane.

Good. There used to be signs on major roads for slower traffic to stay right, but it was more of a notice than a hard law. And that's the real issue, a law is only as good as its enforcement, and if everyone is doing all sorts of things wrong there's only so many that can be pulled over at once.

Where I'm from (somewhere in europe), you're legally required to be in the rightmost lane unless you are overtaking. Though as you would expect, many don't care.

Am in Tennessee. If it's going to work, you've got to have cops taking time away from civil forfeiture stops and focus on moving folks over.

One brings in revenue for the department (and is an expectation for their budget) and the other costs time away from the legal theft.
