Why is it always trains?!
collapsed inline media
I love public transportation. Am I autistic?
Edit: Sorry everyone, I'm joking. Until I'm not in a following comment.
because classifying things that most people take for granted into niche subcategories is part of the ways it manifests.
Wanting to be able to take a train somewhere in 15 min instead of driving there in 30 mins, find a fucking parking spot in 15 and etc isn't autistic. Being excited that for once you're riding a NTW-JPT-2A instead of the more common NTW-JPT-2 is autistic.
:-/
I might spot you that failing to read the social queues when you want to regurgitate everything you know about a subject is the symptom. Also, the habit of ignoring the world around you in order to immerse yourself in reading materials or other non-social stimulus.
It isn't the excitement at novelty or the peculiar fascination that classifies someone. It's the refusal to make eye contact, the obsessive-compulsive behaviors, and the struggle with empathy.
It's a spectrum bae. Some exhibit more symptoms than others. If you're intensely interested in public transportation, then welcome to the club sib🫂🏳️🌈.
I learned that my hyper empathy is extremely tied to my ASD symptoms, which made me reflect why Fluttershy & Pinky Pie “were my fav.”
It's only now I am rediscovering that my interests in characters stem from things I personally relate to.
Oh. Ohhhhh shit. I was joking around, then I read your first link out of curiosity. Then I started reading related articles.
That's so me. My old psychiatrist and I were on the fence about if I was autistic or if we simply share some traits since I have CPTSD (thanks dad!) and ADHD, but eventually settled on the latter. This has me thinking I need to reevaluate with my new psychiatrist.
It's ok🫂.
AuDHD is the worst possible combo, and I had friends with this cursed combo.
Trauma affects us all extremely differently.
Hope you get the therapy you need.🫂🫂🫂
Thanks! I'm actually kinda excited, it's a new thing to explore!
It... could be... but that one thing alone is not enough to know with any real certainty.
If you... do want to try and do a preliminary evaluation of yourself:

There ya go.
80 count questionnaire, designed for people who are older and think they may have missed being diagnosed at an earlier life stage.
My Score: 142
I'm laughing pretty hard over here. My next therapy appointment is going to be interesting.
Welcome to the club, fren.
lol.
Yeah, a lot of things make a lot more sense when you realize... oh. I actually am different from normies. I'm not a defective normie, I'm just... literally on an entire other spectrum.
EDIT:
Unfortunately, however...
... this does reinforce the train stereotype.
Dude. What the fuck.
I... Scored a bit higher than expected.
I think trains and dinosaurs are more like an anglophone stereotype. Where I grew up I'd hear about mail stamps.
