Avoid Weleda. It's based on biodynamic agriculture and antroposophic medicine which are unscientific and coming from a cult.

I'm a bit frustrated by biodynamic agriculture because while it's a total cult, I guess it's a predecessor of sort to integrated farming, which makes a lot of sense. They're not entirely wrong about the whole poisoning of the soil and all that. So while I don't want to support the cult, I would rather use products from biodynamic than from industrial agriculture.

I do not have many kind things to say about antroposophic medicine. I guess it's potential for harm is limited in a toothpaste.

I'm not sure that it's a predecessor to integrated farming. Biodynamic agriculture has some similar practices, some of it makes sense but most doesn't. It's about "harvesting cosmic forces", astrology and using preparations with stuff like urinary bladders from red deer, the small intestines of cattle, the skull of a domesticated animal or the mesentery of a cowโ€ฆ

Yeah, predecessor is a poor choice of words. They did some of the right things for the wrong reasons before agricultural science caught up with reality. More of a broken watch kind of situation.
