It is in a sense a propaganda weapon. We can collectively choose to not use it and ostracize it but the nazis and fascists won't have the same qualms.
It's like choosing to use bows out of principle when the enemy has guns. Fun in a comic book, doesn't work so well in real life.
no you kind missed a bit. it's going to deplete our fresh water source AND it's programed however they want it.
There is quite a huge open source community which let's you fine tune it however you want.
I don't use it because it's an error-prone black box that also destroys the environment as a kicker.
'Fine-tuning' will not fix that.
I swear, Lemmings would simp for an orphan crushing machine so long as someone uttered the magic words "open source".
I'm pretty sure there are more people mindlessly hating on AI then there are of peeps sipping for it on lemmy.
Sadly, this is not an argument you are going to be able to win here. You are behaving rationally and are correct. Bringing rationality to an irrational circle jerk is a bad time.
The sad thing is, we agree with the irrational crowd in 90% of everything else. But if it's not 100%, that makes you the enemy in their eyes.
